WE NEED YOUR HELP!
One of our Fairmount Fire Department firefighters along with the support of the 128th District Assemblywoman Pamela J. Hunter (D- Syracuse), and Senator John W. Mannion (D- 50th Senate District) has drafted a bill to amend the current NYS Real Property Tax Law, which will provide significant school tax relief to all volunteer firefighters in New York State.
In order for this bill to be turned into an amendment, as much support as possible will be needed from other Assemblymen and women, NYS Senators, and Governor Kathy Hocul.
The attached informational documents include:
– A copy of New York State Bill A-04790 that will be voted on in the New York State Assembly.
– A copy of New York State Senate Companion Bill S-5833 that will be voted on in the New York State Senate.
Both of these bills will be voted on this year (before June 2023). This bill will amend the current NYS Real Property Tax Law 466 and authorize local school district board members to give volunteers up to $12,000 in school tax rebates.
