Fairmount provides students attending Onondaga Community College and other local institutions of higher education the opportunity to train, respond to calls, and live within one of the busiest fire departments in Onondaga County.

Why Fairmount Fire Department?
Requirements
- Must complete formal interview process
- Must belong to a fire department
- Applicants must be 18 years of age by the start of the semester
- Must have obtained NYS FF1 or Pro-Board equivalent
- Must be enrolled in a local college or institute of higher education
NYS EMT-B will receive preference in the application process.
